People lined up at the Grand Theatre in Hattiesburg for the newest Book-to-Movie smash hit, The Hunger Games.

Whether you are team Peeta, Gale, or Katniss, last night you could tell everyone was united for one thing, the much anticipated Hunger Games finally hit theaters.

Some dressed up as characters from the book, others wore t-shirts with the much seen mocking bird emblem. "It kind of grabs your attention with something that's a little different from a lot of other fiction I've read. It deals with a lot of ethical issues, which I like. Deals with morals and philosophy" said movie goer Josh Moore.

Fans of the books were all ready to go as well as others who had not read the books such as Lacey James, "Well I wasn't really sure about the movie but all my friends were like "let's go see the Hunger Games" but it seems like it's going to be a great movie."

Josh Moore went on to put the rumors to rest that this maybe just another Twilight "This isn't a love story, I'm sorry."

Hunger Games is now showing nationwide. Check your local listings for show-times. If you have any photos from the Midnight premiere, please e-mail them to mmorrison@wdam.com
