The Office of Communications at The University of Southern Mississippi captured 11 awards – including a Grand Award for Print Media -- during the 2013 College Public Relations Association of Mississippi Conference held May 20-21 in Gulfport, Miss.

Competing in the Senior Division among Mississippi universities, Southern Miss took home the Grand Award for its “Parent Handbook.” The judges called the submission a “Home run.”

The University of Southern Mississippi Foundation announced today that its tornado relief and campus beautification campaigns were entering a quiet phase as the nation focuses its attention on tornado victims in Oklahoma. During this time the Foundation will refrain from publicly soliciting donors for the campaigns.

The University of Southern Mississippi Office of Professional Development and Educational Outreach will hold the Essentials in Human Resource Management Professional Certificate CourseJune 20-21 from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. on the Hattiesburg campus.
