Southern Miss kicks off United Way Campaign on Hattiesburg Campus

Calling on the Hattiesburg campus to continue making “miracles” happen through their support of the United Way, University of Southern Mississippi Interim President Dr. Aubrey Lucas kicked off the school's annual United Way Campaign over breakfast Tuesday morning at the Thad Cochran Center. The campus campaign runs through Nov. 9.

Campus campaign co-chairs include Dr. Steven Cloud, chairman of the Department of Speech and Hearings Sciences; and Corrie Thompson, interim manager with the Office of Contracts and Grants Accounting. Other campus volunteer leaders are assisting in the colleges, schools, departments and other units to secure support for the campaign.

Lucas praised university employees for their past support of the United Way and commitment to helping raise funds for this year’s campaign. “You are the key to the United Way’s success and making the miracles that happen in this community,” he said. “Thank you for what you are doing.”
