For the twelfth consecutive year, VISITHATTIESBURG™ is celebrating all-things-tourism during National Tourism Week. This year’s theme “Hospitality…Worth Its Weight In Gold” celebrates Hattiesburg’s successful tourism industry and its $247 Million impact on the local economy.

Wesley Medical Center recently invested in the Discovery 530c nuclear camera, making them the first and only hospital in Mississippi to offer this breakthrough technology to patients.  Developed by General Electric, the Discovery 530c solid state detector nuclear camera offers lower radiation and more accurate imaging in a much shorter length of time.

This week, da Vinci Masters Level surgeon Dr. Joseph Washburne completed the 1000th da Vinci robotic-assisted surgery to be performed at Wesley Medical Center. Reaching this milestone makes Wesley’s the most experienced da Vinci surgical program in south Mississippi.
